Jeff Mitchell
Senior Support Technician, II

Jeff Mitchell is an Information Technology (IT) Systems Engineer specializing in solutions design and systems administration with over 20 years of experience working in governmental and non-profit organizations.  From 1997 to 2000, Jeff served as the Network Administrator for the 40th Airlift Squadron at Dyess Air Force Base managing a network comprised of Novell Netware servers and Window NT clients. In 2000, he became the Network Manager for the Abilene Library Consortium where he maintained the Active Directory servers and public workstations for three Abilene universities and two branches of the Abilene Public Library.  In 2003, he became the Network Operations Manager for the City of Abilene, and in 2007 was promoted to IT Manager over Network Operations, Programming, and Telecommunications.

 

Jeff is a Texas Certified Public Manager and has served as the network designer for a CAD/RMS migration project for the Abilene Police Department, and as project manager for complex systems upgrades such as an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system upgrade with cloud migration (Human Resources, Finance, and Purchasing), and an email/calendar/contacts/file server migration from Microsoft Exchange 2010 to Google G Suite/Drive/Team Drives.

 

Jeff joined Goldsmith Solutions in 2019 working to design, implement, and maintain technology management and automation to create an optimum user experience in a secure and compliant environment.  “Most computer users just want the thing to work.  I get that, and I believe the way we meet that challenge is through continuous improvement.”

 

Jeff and his wife Leota live in Abilene raising their grandson and two daughters.  Jeff holds a second degree black belt in the traditional Korean Martial Art Kuk Sool Won and also loves to sweat it out at Hendrick Health Club doing the modern hip hop dance-based cardio workout BodyJam.
